HIV and Resources
Course Description: This course will provide participants with an overview of HIV/AIDS, including prevalence, transmission, prevention, risk factors, symptoms, testing and treatment. The interconnectedness of HIV and substance abuse will be explored, including a discussion of case management strategies, relapse prevention, and addressing psychological and spiritual needs of clients. Participants will also examine the legal issues involved with HIV practice, including confidentiality and discrimination. Resources for providers and individuals will be provided.
