Criminal Justice System
Course Description: This course will enable students to acquire an understanding of the Criminal Justice and become familiar with service eligibility criteria and how to access services for SUD within the Criminal Justice system. The course will help identify levels of involvement with the Criminal Justice system including Drug Court, Probation, Parole, Juvenile Justice System, incarceration, severity of charges, legal restitution, etc, for clients with SUD. Students will become familiar with barriers that prohibit full reintegration back into the community. At the end of the course, student will be able to effectively utilize appropriate supervision with SUD presenting cases having Criminal Justice involvement.
