Community and Professional Education
Course Description: Students will be able to describe resources for educational materials useful for community and professional education. Students will become familiar with learning concepts such as learning styles, brain based learning, and interactive learning, writing learning objectives, and outcome based evaluation. Students will be able to explain the various active learning methods appropriate for use with different populations. Students will be able to design specific curricula, including appropriate content and learning activities for a specific population, e.g., family, community agencies, probation workers, DYFS workers, etc. Students will have an opportunity to present their own short presentation and receive feedback.
